Enjoy the Rua Augusta, the liveliest of the city and go to the top of the Arco do Triunfo to enjoy the magnificent view. Relax in Ribeira das Naus, by the river. Visit the Castle with its fabulous views and the picturesque district of Alfama where you can dine in a typical Fado restaurant. The Chiado and Príncipe Real, the most cosmopolitan districts, are full of trendy shops, galleries, restaurants and charming secular shops. The Rua da Bica de Duarte Belo with its funicular is one of the most photographed of the city as well as the view from the belvedere of S. Pedro de Alcântara, one of many around the city.
 
Visit the Tower of Belém and the impressive Jerónimos Monastery and do not forget to taste the famous pastel de Belém! In fact, the Portuguese cuisine is rich and varied and there are no shortages of restaurants that are worth experiencing, from the traditional to the more gourmet. The Parque das Nações is the most modern area of the city and is where the best aquarium in Europe is located, the Oceanário. For the evening, there are a lot of options, start by having a drink in the lively Bairro Alto or in the original "pink street" in Cais do Sodré, and finish the night in one of the many discos. If you have time, make a quick getaway to Sintra and Cascais, places that will make you feel in a real fairy tale.
